The historic location is reflected in the three spaces which are all rich in character and have a story to tell. The Cutting Room and Pasteur Room are registered for ceremonies and all three rooms can accommodate the ceremony, reception and wedding breakfast, so there is no need to change location and guests can stay throughout the day.

The Grubstreet Author has a dedicated event planner who will provide full support in the run up to the wedding and on the big day itself will be there to hand over to a team of highly experience event managers.

The team’s years of experience gained from working with weddings means that no stone is left unturned and any stress is taken away leaving couples to focus on enjoying the day.

FOOD & DRINK AT YOUR WEDDING

For many a love of food comes a close second to the love they have for their partner and the Grubstreet Author has the dishes to impress even the most foodie of couples. The delicious and intricate menus are captivating to the eye and packed with bold and exciting flavours, influenced by cooking from around the world. The executive chef works in partnership with each couple and discusses every dish in finite detail at a private tasting before agreeing a final menu.

Once the menu is in place, wines will be recommended that complement the wedding breakfast with the option to have these served by course specifically tailored by a sommelier to the menu. A signature range of cocktails, luxurious spirits and the finest champagnes are also available to elevate proceedings even further.

What is the Grubstreet Author’s wedding capacity for ceremonies and receptions?

If you’re thinking of having your wedding at The Grubstreet Author, the most important question you must be asking is: will I be able to invite all my guests?

It’s vital to have the most important people in your life at your wedding so, if you’re planning an intimate wedding, we can provide capacity for up to 120 people. Room layouts will affect the capacity.

We also have a dedicated event planner who will support you in the lead up to your wedding and throughout the wedding day, taking the stress from the couple and ensuring everything runs smoothly.

Does the Grubstreet Author have parking?

There are no parking facilities at The Grubstreet Author, however there is a public NCP car park at The Barbican. There is also pay and display street parking available in close proximity to the venue.

Is the venue available for wet and dry hire?

We currently offer The Grubstreet Author venue spaces as purely wet hire, meaning that you hire the room and also the other services that our venue offers. At The Grubstreet Author, we offer catering services, event design, LED lighting, PA systems, audio-visual technology, and an event organiser or event planner, depending on the event, to help make your event the best it can be.

Is there anywhere for guests to stay after the wedding?

If some of your guests are travelling from further away, or you want a hotel to stay the night after your big day, there are several options near to The Grubstreet Author. The Montcalm Hotel, located on Chiswell Street, is the perfect place to rest your head after a day of celebrating. Alternatively, use our HotelMap to find other nearby hotels.

Can you host both the wedding ceremony and the reception at your venue?

The Cutting Room and The Pasteur Room are registered for ceremonies. We can accommodate the wedding breakfast, the ceremony and the reception, all at the same venue.
