At The Grubstreet Author, we have three fantastic venue spaces in a sleek, contemporary location right in the heart of London that marries historical tradition and heritage with a modern twist. Our award-winning contemporary cuisine is perfect for your private dining event, and a choice of event spaces will make your day or evening feel truly exclusive.

BANQUETING IN THE HEART OF LONDON

If your event requires a banqueting hall for your guests, say an intimate wedding, a conference or a birthday celebration, choosing the right one can make all the difference. You’ll need to make sure it complements your event and supports everything you want to include.

A venue like The Grubstreet Author, can provide everything you need and more – tailored lighting, expert catering using seasonal ingredients by highly-regarded chefs, and fantastic audio-visual effects (DAD PA systems, LED lighting and electronic signage). All this in a gorgeous historical event space that can be customised to your specifications.

OUR VENUE SPACES

The first of our event spaces, The Pasteur Room, is a distinguished space for dining with stunning features, such as the tin ceiling tiles, statement floor and burnt iron chandelier.

The Sample Room has a refined ambience and character in abundance, and can be used on its own for standalone receptions or with The Pasteur Room to create a separate arrival drinks and/or after party area.

The Cutting Room is ideal for small awards receptions with space for standing catering or, in true cinema style, usherettes can deliver food to the auditorium.

CENTRAL LONDON LOCATION

The location of The Grubstreet Author makes finding it completely stress-free, even for a new visitor to London.

There are multiple tube lines that service the area, as well as bus routes on the doorstep and Santander cycle stations nearby.

Which rooms at The Grubstreet Author are best for private dining?

At The Grubstreet Author, we have two venue rooms which are perfect for private dining parties, whether they’re for a wedding, birthday or other event. Both The Pasteur Room and The Sample Room can be laid out in the lunch or dinner style and can be tailored to fit your event with help from our event design team.

The Pasteur Room can accommodate 66 guests for lunch or dinner, while The Sample Room can accommodate 50 guests.

Are there vegetarian menu options available?

Private dining menus are meant to be savoured at a leisurely pace, and we want to make sure that everyone can enjoy the sumptuous fare that our passionate team of chefs create, which is why we include a number of vegetarian dishes on our menus.

With our partnership with local suppliers, we are able to earmark the finest produce and exciting ingredients so we can make sure every dish is full of flavour.

If you have further dietary requirements, please don’t hesitate to talk to your event co-ordinator when organising your private dining event.

How do we organise a private dinner?

Organising a private dining event is simple with The Grubstreet Author. You’ll be in the capable hands of our event organiser who will help organise everything pertaining to the event, from the food and wine, all the way to the event design and seating plans.

All you have to do is provide us with a description of what you’d like and your budget requirements, and we’ll take it from there.

What is included in a private dining package?

When you hold a private dining event at The Grubstreet Author, you won’t just have an event organiser looking after your day as part of your package, but you’ll also receive first class food and drinks, audio-visual services and stunning event design.

The food is the focal point for a private dining event, of course, and we’re proud to showcase some of the most thought-provoking and delicious food available in the event marketplace, thanks to our passionate team of chefs.

How do I get to the Grubstreet Author?

Travelling to The Grubstreet Author by public transport is quick and easy since it’s within walking distance of several underground and mainline train stations: Barbican Station, Moorgate Station, Bank Station, and Liverpool Street Station.
